Arrington, Edgar & Shiel, LLC (AES) is dedicated to delivering a custom designed “one stop shop” Mortgage experience to our mortgage partners.

AES was formed in 2003 by Joseph E. Settle, Michael S. Thompson, and A.H.A. Williams IV.  These founding partners have over sixty years of experience in the mortgage and financial services industry.  These mortgage professionals had previously created and managed a company that specialized in buying and selling mortgages throughout the United States and Europe.  In late 2002, the AES founders recognized the trend of consolidating the services surrounding the real estate market.  It became clear to Settle, Thompson, and Williams that real estate brokerage services, mortgage services, title insurance, settlement services, homeowner insurance services, and concierge services were consolidating into one service provider that was able to provide superior service at reduced prices to the consumer.  These consolidated services were being formed around the large national builders and large national real estate companies.  The AES founders realized that this trend would become the future norm because of the considerable advantages of increased volume with reduced costs along with the industry changes that are being wrought as a result of the developing information technology.  The AES founders realized that these benefits could translate to the medium or regional builders and real estate agencies and decided that they would bring the “one stop shop” concept to regional builders and developers, market leading real estate agencies, independent financial advisors, and regional insurance agencies.

In July of 2006, AES announced the addition of Brian Kenedy as a Partner. Brian brings a wealth of experience and wisdom that he gained from his experiences at Director level positions in multi-national corporations.

In April 2009, AES announced the addition of Phil Wagner as a Partner. Phil brings with him over 20 years management experience on the wholesale side primarily with Wells Fargo and Countrywide.

Crystal Blanton partnered with Thompson and Williams to form a separate company, AES Title Partners, LLC, in April of 2007 in order to focus on the Title Insurance Agency component of the one stop shop. Blanton honed her ample skills over the last 14 years working with attorneys and title companies in all facets of the title insurance industry.

Arrington Edgar & Shiel forms and manages Mortgage Banking companies in joint ventures with medium-sized Real Estate Brokers, Builders, Developers, Financial Advisors, and Insurance Agencies located in North Carolina and adjoining states.
